YOUNG CARERS | WORKING WITH SCHOOLS | SPONSORSHIP
Peter
Blay is proud to be a Trustee of Warwickshire Young Carers a
charity which manages the Young Carers' Project for Warwickshire |
When
Newbold Riverside Primary School wanted an after school club, QEH
Systems Director, Peter Blay, stepped in to develop and run a slot car
racing group |
When Formula 2 sidecar racers, Anne Garnish and Dean Nicholls needed some extra support for their 2012 season, QEH Systems were able to step in with a sponsorship package that helped with the costs of racing at circuits across Britain |

The
project works with Carers from the age of 8 upwards and aims to
help improve the lives of young carers by supporting them in
their caring role, giving them an opportunity to relax and take a
break, and helping them to realise their own dreams During 2015, Peter Blay ran the QEH500, covering at total of 500km (the equivalent of Rugby to Land's End). This raised over thirteen hundred pounds for the charity | With
support from other local companies, who each "sponsored" a car, the
children were able to build, paint and race the slot cars. Learning
valuable skills but most of all having fun The final meeting saw an open race night, supported by parents and sponsors | As
the season progressed the results for Team Lick Racing steadily
improved and Anne ensured that there were regular reports to the
local press, creating coverage for both the team and their sponsor
